Working Mom Tips

Moms choose to stay at home to focus on taking good care of the kids and dealing with the needs of each family member. Though they are not employed, they still hold so much in their hands. Stay-at-home moms still have to wake up early, plan today’s schedule, prepare their children’s meals, drive their kids to school, go grocery shopping, clean the house, pick-up the kids, cook for dinner, help their kids in their homework, and tuck them to bed. These chores are not easy. They take up as much time as working in the office does. The only difference is that when they are employed, they are being paid, and for stay-at-home moms, they are willing to go to extra lengths for love.
 
Then we have the working moms...

We may not notice it, but moms keep a secret. They are a breed of individuals conquering both home and the business industry -- and mind you, they do great in both work! Moms are special human beings designed to lead at work and love at home. Mothers have a very hectic schedule because they have to balance the demands of their career and the needs of their family. Moms who play two characters in a day - one in the office and one at home - follow a very tight docket and too much stress in their part cannot be avoided.

Whether you are employed or a stay-at-home mom, there are circumstances when you should take a break and release all the tensions, because stress bring a negative impact on other aspects like family, work, health, and priorities. Here are some tips for working moms to be able to balance work, family, and other precedences:

Prioritize. At the beginning of the day, jot down all your errands and make a list of your priorities. Mark the important dates on your calendar -- grocery shopping, kids’ enrollment, payment of bills, and so on. It is best to write it all down.

Delegate. If you need help, there’s no harm in trying. Ask help from your husband, children, relatives, friends, or neighbors. An extra hand will go a long way.

Separate your job and your responsibilities as a mother.
Separating and striking a balance between the two is very important in every family. What you, working moms, should do is to set your own timeline on how to deal with these commitments. We recommend that you wake up early and prepare for the long day. Spend your work hours only for work hours, and never ever work extra hours unless completely necessary. Never bring your work at home as well. After work should be dedicated for your family.

Cook special meals at least twice a week.
Cooking for your family makes them feel special and loved. Ask them what happened during the day and discuss your thoughts and insights.

Never miss school meetings and special occasions.
If your kid has a game or a dance recital, it is a must that you attend! Inform your boss beforehand and take a leave.

Take a vacation once in a while. Or at least do an activity together. Go to Disneyland, watch a game or a movie at home, or go biking around the neighborhood - whatever - as long as you’re together and you’re having fun!

Don’t forget to have time for yourself. Relax and have your “me-time”. Forget about all the stress and do things that would make you happy.

Indeed, being a mom is the toughest job in the world, but the end of the day, as long as you are doing it for your family, all the hard work is worth it.

Northeast Leaders Conference

Effective leadership is one of the most important elements in any successful business and industry. A great leader is the driving force that motivates individuals and brings out their full potential. Leaders are not born that way. There are numerous factors that contributed to their efficiency and success. The key is to be willing to learn from experiences, appreciate these lessons, apply them to solve problems, and be driven to go further.

In New York Business Partners (NYBP), we believe that anyone can be a leader. It takes time, but as long as you have initiative and passion, you will surely do great in being one.


New York Business Partners (NYBP) is organizing another influential event called the Northeast Leaders Conference. The conference aims to invite all individuals who are aspiring to be leaders in any industry. The seminar will engage into enterprising and powerful discussions to help you, the future business leaders.
